This form is for any adult sponsors coming with a youth group but not serving on our Support Staff.
We want to emphasize this point: Horizon is not a great place for parents who are going to distract from camp or take students away from their group. If you are coming to camp, your main role will be to help your church's youth group.
We ask you to understand that we have over 400 campers coming to Horizon. Having some overprotective parents - actually, let's admit it, most every parent is overprotective, and that's okay - but having parents who are too involved or too overbearing are not helpful to camp. Helicopter parents who hover over their children all the time are not a great thing at Horizon. Special privileges, preferential treatment, or campers not having to do camp activities just because their parent is there is not fair to other campers.
Adult sponsors coming with a church can be a part of our morning worship, after recreation activities, meals, evening worship and entertainment. You can also be a part of free time each day. Morning classes are intended for students and their counselors only. In a few rare cases, we will make some room for adult sponsors in a class. We are not trying to keep parents from classes...we are just trying to create an environment where students will share and learn without additional adults who they do not know being in the classes.
Please complete this application if you are interested coming to HORIZON 2026 as an adult sponsor for your group. Background checks are required for all participants.
